Trauma Healing 101

This live workshop is designed for coaches, medical professionals and all those who hold sacred space.

Participants will learn to understand the difference between a traumatic incident and PTSD, how to identify the hallmarks of a traumatic reactions, and how the “rule of two” can wake up previously dormant traumatic experiences.

The workshop will also offer simple techniques for managing traumatic reactivity in the moment, and ways of caring for all of the body’s rhythms and systems to bring long term healing and resilience.

Objectives

  • Explain the difference between covert and overt trauma
  • Name the rule of thumb for identifying a traumatic reaction
  • Name one component that must be present for a trauma-treatment approach to be effective
  • Demonstrate a simple tapping technique for responding to distress in the moment

Trauma Healing 201

This 8-week deep-dive class is open to those who have attended the Trauma Healing 101 introductory workshop (see above) and want to go deeper into their understanding and treatment of trauma in their practice. Participants will earn the designation of “trauma-informed” on completion of this course.

Objectives

  • Describe the Pyramid of Traumatic Experience and why it’s important
  • Explain the significance of The Rule of Two
  • Demonstrate two interventions you could offer when a client is experiencing a trauma response
  • Describe the indicators that a referral is warranted

  • TOTAL: up to 20 hours of ICF approved credits
