This is Me.
On paper, Iām a licensed therapist, certified coach, trauma specialist and spiritual consultant. And Iām a pretty awesome teacher and speaker too.
Iāve been lovingly described as a professional sh*t-shoveler. (Because someoneās got to deal with lifeās crap.)
My approach is deeply relational, clinically precise, and just a little bit magical.
I blend evidence-based trauma therapy (like EMDR) with energy psychology, spiritual insight, powerful teaching, deep relationality, and a lot of laughter along the way.
No emotional hangovers. No rehashing the past for the sake of it. Just healing that actually works.
āThere is no greater gift than transforming the things of nightmares into magical, beautiful, life-changing dreams. And thatās what I get to do.ā
- Jane
What I Actually Do
People often think trauma work has to be painful, messy, or years-long.
But thatās not how I roll.
You donāt have to retell your story 17 times ⦠in fact sometimes, you donāt have to talk at all.
I get in, get to the root, and get to work.Ā
I clear nightmares, flashbacks, hot-buttons and shame-shudders, getting you grounded in your body and sleeping through the night.Ā
I pull self-sabotage outta there, and ensure thereās no more playing small.Ā
I transform sadness and grief and loss into compassion and love.Ā
I find your energy and excitement for lifeās possibilities.
And then I teach you how to do it too.
How I Got Here
I didnāt grow up dreaming of being a therapist.
(Though I had enough nightmares to keep one in business.)
I just wanted to be self-sufficient.
In my 20s, I worked in a corporate marketing department by day and volunteered on a suicide hotline at night. It was the best of both worlds: a steady paycheck and the chance to do something that actually mattered. Itās also when I first sat with someone with PTSD, long before I had the language for it.
When I moved from the UK to the US in 2002, I tried to volunteer again⦠but ran into the mess that is the American healthcare system. You canāt do much without a Masterās degree and a lot of red tape. So I figured: if I have to jump through all of those hoops, I might as well make it count.
I enrolled in a Marriage & Family Therapy program (which, by the way, was housed in a seminary), requiring a lot of exploration of my spiritual worldview in addition to my family story. While there, I saw my first therapist, and learned that I had a PTSD diagnosis of my own.
Since then, I graduated, got licensed, healed my trauma and earned certifications in EMDR, energy psychology, coaching, and Akashic healing. Iāve worked with clients across the globe, taught in grad school, spoken at conferences and built a practice that doesnāt just process trauma ā it transforms it.
The Fun Stuff
Because Iām more than just a bio
I live on an island in British Columbia with my husband who cooks (oh my word, does he cook), two flower-eating cats, and a Mini Cooper named Tonk.
I leap out of bed when orcas pass by, loathe mushrooms with a passion, and once penned an anonymous Sex Diary for New York Magazine.
Iām deeply moved by the earth, and by the quiet ways the spiritual makes itself known in the physical.
I believe healing should feel real, kind, and deeply relational.
And for everything I canāt fix? Thereās always red wine and a bubble bath.
